Keira was born to actor parents Will Knightley and Sharman MacDonald, on the 22nd of March, 1985, in south-west London. At the tender age of 3, Keira started getting a variety of acting jobs. Though acting was her career choice but her centre point was schooling at a nearby comprehensive institution. Gradually, as the years passed by, her interest turned out to become a reality.

The hard work Knightley did was paid as a cast role in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace. In 2005, she stole the limelight for some more time as the sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean and The Jacket, co-starring Adrien Brody, was released.
